Ten things...Monday

1. I over slept this morning because my phone died. Therefore, my 8:00am alarm didn't sound. I woke up at 10am. WHOOPS! I guess I really didn't "over sleep" because I had no place to be. But still, I definitely prefer waking up earlier then later. I feel like I can get more done with my day. Plus, it helps me remain a normal eating schedule the rest of the day.

2. Today I had the day off work. When we work the entire weekend, we usually get Monday off. I realized I had this time, yet had a list of multiple things to get done. So far today I've made a few business phone calls, got my tires rotated & balanced, went to the bank to get our 2 week of cash out, picked up my prescription, went to the grocery store, and spent a little time with the Lord. Currently, I'm at a local coffee shop because our internet is down at our apartment due to a power surge that apparently happened on Saturday. After this, I'm going to head to the gym. Go home & start on dinner. We have church prayer at 7:15. Busy, full, accomplished day. :)

3. Back to the grocery store: How on earth do you eat healthy on a budget? It's so hard. We are literally eating fresh chicken or fish every night right now with some type of side (usually vegetables or fruit) I want to be able to get creative with this, but on a tight budget finding it difficult. I was annoyed the entire time at the grocery store last night. I wanted to go down the coke isle. I wanted to go down the chip isle. I wanted some snacks that weren't so healthy. It's amazing trying to change how you eat. Wheat things etc. If you have a cheap healthy meal in mind...pass it on to me. THANKS!

4. Fall retreat for our ministry was this past weekend (1-3). It was really good. Our speaker was great & really tried to teach us the difference between the gospel and religion. It's interesting to reflect on this. He also talked about Identity vs Idolatry & Jesus vs. Self help. Teddy and I are really chewing on this stuff right now. We want our lives (everything) to truly align with Christ & His word. Teddy brought up some stuff last night that he believes to be idolatry in our lives. We are spending time praying about these different things currently. Seeking the Lords wisdom in this. One thing you can think about: If you are using Jesus as a means of getting something...that is Idolatry. That is sin. ouch.

5. We had SO many students at fall retreat this year. Around 90 students showed up. It was a lot of fun to dance at $5 prom. I was put in charge of running stuff because Kimbo couldn't come. That made me not sleep well just nervous if something went wrong or something needed to be taken care of that I forgot about. It was really fun though over all. I wish I had taken more advantage of connecting with students. I didn't feel 100% the entire weekend unfortunately. So I went to bed early & took a nap on Saturday afternoon. Teddy even went to go hiking Saturday night with a big group of people, but I just wasn't up for it. :( I'm excited to see how this retreat will play a part in these wonderful students lives.

6. This coming up weekend Teddy and I are making a trip up to Oklahoma, Wichita Falls, and Ft. Worth. We are SUPER excited to go to a wedding & see all our family over the weekend and a few friends. It's going to be a lot of fun. We even have a fun date day planned on Monday in Ft.worth for ourselves.

7. I have one days left on my 4-7's devotional I spoke about earlier in September. Yes, this means I skipped some days & didn't complete it in 28 days. I'm totally ok with this. I have had some precious time with the Lord the past month. I've enjoyed being in the word & praying more. I'm grateful for this little book & the impact it has had on me and my walk with Christ. Many of our students are LOVING this little book too.

8. Yesterday when we got home from the retreat we ate lunch & accidentally fell asleep for a good two hours. Yea, a TWO hour nap on the couch with my hubby. I loved it & we had football playing in the back ground. It was the perfect way to spend a sunday after a retreat. I unfortunately missed a shower for my sweet friend Kinsey, but I will be able to give her her gift later. No worries! We will be hanging out with her & her future groom next Monday (he is Teddy's best friend) in Ft.worth. Maybe I will give it to both of them. :)

9. Believe it or not, I'm running out of things to say. Shocker I know.

10. Have a good week. Hope you choose to recognize where the Lord is working in your heart this week. Listen to the Holy Spirit & obey. We can do this together.
